Definitive Guide for New Players

GENERAL

Right way to loot Stop spamming F just hold it while looting.

Drop markers on map Mark every crowded resource area and rare npc location on map.

Quick hunger boost Wanna get rid of hunger quickly? Drop a bed set it as spawn point and respawn.

Quick Lazy Man's Teleport Drop a bed set it as spawn point in your base or Giant tree. Go out harvesting, and fill your inventory up with loot, (and your little pets too!) Now log out, then log back in. You will be in your Spawn point with easy access to your storage!

No more freezing Build foundation hide under it. Goodbye storm and winter.

Create shortcuts Build ramps bridges to create shortcuts where you constantly travel. You can build anything anywhere!

BASE BUILDING

Teleporting tree base If you climb on top of tree covered in mushroom. You can build base there and claim the tree. Now you can teleport your tree base between trees.

BEST Tree base Location! Coast of Skadi. Beaches filled with barks, fiber, flint, stone and npc’s like gecko, bees and beetles, dropping valuable resources that will allow you to craft better armor. Dropping base next to Skadi is recommended so you can constantly travel between beach and forest.

ANYTHING built that isn't "sheltered" will take damage over time from the environment so.. stairs, bridges and such will have to be repaired.. otherwise it might break while you're on it and might plunge you to your death.

TAMING:

How to tame Find treats in your codex. They have a cake icon. Craft it. Drop HP of npc to half, tame option will appear, press F. Smallander's get Only One pet at a time, (sorry you can't have your ladybug and grasshopper both!

Lady bug tame: Smithy Crafted. 3 x Edible Mushroom; 2 x Nectar; 3 x Fibers

Grasshopper tame: Cauldron Crafted. 3 x insect egg; 1 x Petal; 2 x Seed Oil

Gecko Tame: Cauldron Crafted. 2 x Ant Head; 2 x Bee Head; 1 x Petal; 2 x Seed Oil

Wolf Spider Tame Cauldron Crafted. 1 x Grasshopper Leg; 2 x Spider Eye; 3 x Insect Wings; 1 x Petal; 2 x Seed Oil

Damselfly Tame: Special treat from beating the game.

Tame USES Tame a ladybug if you want walking backpack. Tame a grasshopper to get around the map. Tame a gecko for a boat! Tame a wolf spider for a fighting buddy and mount!

BATTLE:

Coop with players Even if there is 2 players only it can make huge difference. Multi tasking coordinated attack speeds up the progress and reduces risks.

Before boss fight Build foundations around it and on it’s path. If you’re lucky boss will start attacking it instead of you.

NPC radius Every npc have radius. If you’re 1v1 against a bug you can exploit it with hit and run tactic.

ARMOR & WEAPONS:

Keep repairing Drop a workbench anywhere! You can repair items without wasting any resources if they’re slightly damaged.

Get winged torso armor When you get it game will transform in to enjoyable state. It’s a life saver.

Stinger lance This weapon does decent amount of damage similar to flint spear but additionally it has poison damage. And you can just pick it of the ground no need to craft it. It’s located north-west of Nok in sewer.
