WELCOME TO THE AGE OF CALAMITOUS
Dive into an adventure where the barbaric lands of Conan meet the medieval world of the Age of Calamitous.
What is The Age of Calamitous mod? The Age of Calamitous is a total conversion mod for Conan Exiles.
What does AoC add? AoC adds tons of changes to the map and new content like a full quest system, a unique magic system, new character customizations, new crafting stations, armors, weapons, a level cap of 150, custom-made dungeons, and more. It adds six different Factions you can join, each Faction having two sub-factions, making for a total in twelve total Factions you can choose from. It also adds in five different professions you can pick from, giving you a way to craft material crates to earn money. AoC also has it's own menu that allows you to customize and change many AoC game settings to your liking.
Where can I find out more about the lore of AoC You can check out our lore site here at WorldAnvil:
THE ALLIANCE SYSTEM This means once the player selects a Faction, all NPCs allied with that faction will now become allied. This will allow the player to enter any of their respective faction camps across the map without any problems. Once allied with a faction, the player is safe and free to trade, roam, etc. without concern. NOTE: that this is only applicable to the Player’s MAIN FACTION, not any additional factions joined through Gold Tokens. Opposing Factions: Stormhold <-> Vanghoul Elvanor <-> Cold Embrace Elven Covenant <-> Shaedarion Dominion
REPUTATION SYSTEM Patch V.4.22 Changes & Fixes: – Renamed Honor Points to Reputation Points The Honor System goes hand in hand with the Alliance System, you can now build reputation with your allied factions. Once you select a Faction, you’ll start with 100 RP points for that Faction. The allied factions will be at a Neutral standing, meaning 0. When you work to build reputation with other factions, you’ll be able to unlock new content from those factions. Additionally, factions you have a Neutral standing or Good standing with will not attack you. However, if you go below 0 or Neutral standing, you will be considered an enemy of that faction. Factions you are an enemy with will attack you on sight and you will not be able to participate in quests, use their merchants, etc. You can build Reputation Points by completing Quests or defeating enemies of that specific faction
LEGACY SYSTEM The Legacy System allows players to take their progression even further. The Legacy System will give the player additional benefits, such as higher Reputation earnings, higher Faction Commissions, faster Skill Leveling, etc. Each player starts at level 1 in their Legacy and can level up once they reach the Character Max Level of 150. Once the player levels up their legacy, their Character Level is reset to 1. However, Skills, Reputation, Alliance/Faction, and so on will not be reset. The quests, however, will be fully reset, allowing the player to go through the questlines again and reap the rewards once more.
DEATH PENALTY The new Death Penalty System has been created for those who want to up the stakes in their gameplay. The Death Penalty will cause a Corrupted Soul that reduces the overall attributes’ effectiveness and it will last for 1 hour unless cleansed. The Shrine of the True God has been added to the Dark Forest ruins, where players can go to cleanse their Souls. Additionally, a new bonus is available as part of this system, the Survival Bonus. The Survival Bonus will come into effect after surviving for 2 hours and will increase stats as well as boost Skill XP).
CONQUEST SYSTEM The new Conquest System is a PvP-centered update. This system will make parts of the world into PvP zones and/or Safe Zones. In the AoC Server Settings, admins can decide which area will be considered a PvP zone and what area should be a Safe Zone free of any PvP. These options currently include: SOUTH – Dark Forest, Lake Felkar, and Devil Mountain. EAST – Jungle. WEST – Desert, and Unnamed City. NORTH – Grasslands, Mounds of the Dead, Snowy Mountains, and Volcano. EVENT ZONES – Faction Hall. NOTE: This system is currently only supported on PvE servers where the selected zones will allow for PvP. It currently does not support Building Damage, only Player VS Player.
RIFT GATE SYSTEM This system allows players to interact with Rift Gates around the world, which works in a similar fashion to the old Portal System. However, Rift Gates allow players to unlock Rifts between locations and can connect gates to each other. As an example, the player can access a Rift Gate in the Volcano and when interacting with it, they can choose to open a Rift to any previously unlocked location, such as the Faction Hall.
SOUL ESSENCE SYSTEM Soul Essence replaces the stamina usage for Magic weapons. Additionally, Magic Weapons will no longer require stacks of spells. Once a spell has been crafted, you can apply that to your Magic weapon and cast magic. The spell doesn’t need to be crafted in quantity as you’ll be able to use it indefinitely now. However, Soul Essence will dictate how much you can cast a time now.
DYNAMIC COMBAT SYSTEM This system makes it possible to level up your weapons and tools, increasing their overall strength and quality. Part of this system includes Faction NPCs, which will now be scaling dynamically alongside the player. This is the first iteration of this system and we plan to expand upon it further down the road. SHADOWCALLING This new combat style is only available on 2 sets of weapons as of right now: Blades of Elydarh (Shadaerion Dominion) and Sanguis Daggers (Cold Embrace). This combat style offers a Melee/Magic type of combat.

What is the Level Cap in AOC? level 150
How many attribute points should I have at level 150? AoC gives 1 point for every other level. Equaling = 60
How do I add my crown currency to my coin pouch? Press 9+0 and go to the character tab.
How do I complete the first Journey Step to find the smoke and wagon? Once you leave the faction hall, you can follow the road right to it.
Where is the Faction Hall? The Faction Hall can now be found at the Vanquished Coast.
Why am I not getting the "Spend an Attribute Point" Journey Step? For some reason, the game doesn't like alterations to the attribute point system. This Journey Step will complete once you hit level 120 and spend your final attribute point.
My weapons/tools are auto-sheathing randomly, how do I fix this? This is the result of a base game bug that can happen with some of the armors that cover both the torso and legs, like the Lemurian armors. Any armors like these can cause the issue.
I need help with so and so quest. We have a Quest Guide you should check out! QUEST GUIDE
I did my sub-faction quest, but I don't see my new feats to learn? Make sure you interacted with the statue bearing your sub-factions logo near that quest NPC and have eaten the token.
Can I learn more than one faction/professions? Your beginning faction you can join with no pre-reqs through the tutorial quests. To obtain a second or a third Faction, will require 1000 reputation points with each faction you want to join. You will gain this reputation either from killing the opposing faction thralls, or doing the daily quests that are available in each faction's hub from that factions quest giver.
How do I level up my profession? Open your Knowledge tab, go to decorations section. Your chosen Profession and associated feats are located here, you can learn them as you gain character levels.
When joining a clan, there are some new factors to consider. The clan will be considered an Alliance Clan based on the leader’s Alliance. This has some impact on the gameplay.
Thralls, Pets, and Mounts are player owned followers until the player joins a clan. However, the moment the player joins a clan, their Thralls, Pets, and Mounts will be owned by the clan. This is how the Clan System works in the base game. What is important to note is that the Clan Leader will be the owner where the Clan Alliance is concerned. (This has no impact on the players themselves, only followers).
As an example, if a Silverlight Accord Player joins a Forsaken Legion Clan, all Thralls, Pets, and Mounts will be considered Forsaken Legion. This means that all Silverlight Accord NPCs will attack these Thralls, Pets, and Mounts. Because this is a limitation of how the base game utilizes user IDs versus IDs of clans.
How do I survive the plague? Can I make my thralls/pets immune to plague? The plague is meant to be deadly. Staying inside of the clouds for too long will cause certain death. Be careful with you and your thralls, making sure to order them out of the way before it's too late. The sub-faction for Felgarth, House Stormcaller, can craft a Ring of Era'Vosh that removes a plague stack every 4 seconds. Your faction pets can be made immune by purchasing the Metamorphosis from the Guild Vendor and placing it in their inventory. Some faction pets, like the hunting dog, can also be made plague immune with their skin, also purchased at the Guild Vendor.
Why can't I grow AoC seeds? Make sure you're growing AoC seeds in an AoC planter (Indoor, Outdoor, Temple), using the AoC Waterbucket crafted at the AoC Woodworking Bench. Fill the bucket with water like you would any waterskin, and then put the bucket, the seed and the appropriate compost in the planter. Plants will take either potent or normal, most will use potent.
Now that magic has changed, where can I find information on where things have moved to? *ALL Magical information* is found in the " MAGIC GUIDE: " To start your magical journey, you need to learn the Ancients Arts knowledge by reading (using) the Great Tome of the Ancient Arts. You can acquire this tome for free with a quest, or purchase it from a couple vendors. Quest: The Essence of Magic, from Aethos Stormcaller on The Vanquished Coast (the starting beach). Magic Attunements — You no longer learn attunements directly from quest givers. The only way to learn the feats is to buy the appropriate book from a vendor. All the attunement books are available for sale in the Faction Hall, but the quest NPC for each school of magic sells them at GREATLY reduced prices. Shrines — Most of the shrines have moved with this patch. After you've attuned, you can find and use them at the locations outlined in the MAGIC GUIDE. CAREFUL: many are now protected by hostile magic-using mobs! Tomes — Required to build and use magic altars. They are for sale in the Faction Hall, but can be found for free out in the world. These books are also the objective of the final quest in the chain for each school.
Why am I exploding when I use the shrines for magic? Make sure you did the correct quests and have "used" the attunement book.
AoC Weapon Tier System has been reworked. The new tiers are as follows: T1 – Crude T2 – Hammered T3 – Ironshod T4 – Bronzewrought T5 – Steelbound T6 – Stormtempered T7 – Runebound T8 – Nobleforged T9 – Eldercrafted T10 – Eternalbound
