Conan Progression Guide

Notes

- This guide was created without using any combat thralls or pets in mind. While still possible to use them, it may make some things trivial in terms of difficulty. - Important items are listed next to the locations they are found at. Make sure you have them before you move on from a location. - Attune to Obelisks when you see them. - I suggest playing with the interactive map open and completing nearby cities/caves/ruins/vistas/etc as you go, while letting the "Key Locations" guide your general direction. - Legendary Creatures: Great way to acquire legendary weapons when you feel capable of doing so (Perhaps between Tier 1 & 2) - I would recommend completing the Journey Steps when you can but some of them seem rather out of order in terms of difficulty. By following the list above, you are likely to complete them naturally. However be sure to do the more simple tasks (block an attack, throw an orb, etc) asap.

The list below is in order of story progression and difficulty.

Prelude

- Nunu the Cannibal gives players a major hint in terms of progression which can be easily missed. Be sure to chat with him and see what he has to say! Exiles Journey Chapters

Below you will find Information on each of the Exiles Journey Chapters

The Exiles Journey is a progression method within Conan Exiles.

  • The player must select a journey from Journey tab to be their active journey. Progress can only be gained in the current journey. The next step of the active journey is displayed at the top-right of the screen, if Show Journey Steps is enabled in Gameplay settings. The active journey can be switched at any time without losing progress on completed steps, allowing one to complete whichever steps are most convenient at the given moment.

  • Completing a journey step awards experience, with more advanced steps awarding higher amount, and completing a full journey gives an additional reward in the form of loot deposited directly into the player's inventory or new crafting recipes.

CONAN EXILES DAMAGE GUIDE

If your weapons in Conan Exiles seem to deal low damage, ensure your weapons are upgraded with the correct kits, that your attributes (Strength or Dexterity) are high enough for the weapon type, and that you're using appropriate armor and buffs.

Here's a more detailed breakdown:

1. Weapon Upgrades (Kits):

  • Equipment Upgrades: Weapons can be upgraded with kits (also called mods) that improve their stats.

  • Tinker's Bench: These kits are crafted at the Tinker's Bench.

  • Durability: Ensure your weapon has full durability before attempting to apply a kit.

  • Repair: If the weapon is missing durability, try repairing it first, then retry applying the kit

2. Attributes:

  • Strength vs. Dexterity: Weapons scale with either Strength or Dexterity.

  • Increase Attributes: To deal more damage, increase the attribute that your weapon scales with.

  • Weapon Type: Different weapons scale with different attributes. Spears, for example, are Strength weapons.

3. Armor:

  • Armor Bonuses: Certain armor pieces can increase the damage of either Strength or Dexterity weapons.

  • Darfari Gear: For example, Darfari gear can increase Strength weapon damage by a certain percentage.

4. Buffs:

  • Food and Elixirs: Food and elixirs can provide temporary damage buffs.

5. Other Considerations:

  • Thralls: Thralls do not benefit from the "Vengeful" bonus.

  • Master Weapon Fitting: Consider using Master Weapon Fittings to increase health damage and armor penetration.

  • Known Issues:

  • Legendaries: Some Legendaries are not working as they should according to the damage numbers from Exiles wiki.

  • Mod Conflicts: Some mods might interfere with weapon kit application, so check for any conflicts.

  • Bugged Weapons: Be aware that some weapons, like "The Predatory Blade", have been reported to deal no damage.

CONAN EXILES ATTRIBUTE GUIDE

Each time your character levels up, you will receive additional attribute points (AP). You may allocate these points across any attributes you choose to customize your character. There are significant bonuses to be earned as you reach various levels of any given attribute. In game, you may hover over any attribute to read more about these bonuses and the perks table below details those.

The maximum AP is earned at level 60 at the rate of 1 AP per level. At that point, you will have a total of 60 AP and you will not earn any more thereafter. This is an intentional design feature of the game. You cannot maximize all attributes and instead you will need to find a balance of attributes that serves your play style. It will cost you 20 AP just to max out one attribute, meaning you can completely max out three attributes.

You may reset your attribute points at any time by consuming a Potion of Bestial Memory.

At attribute level 10 and 20, you get to choose from two perks.

List of Attributes

  • Strength "determines the damage that you do with strength based weapons and slightly increases how much you can carry."

  • Agility "determines the damage that you do with agility based weapons, helps you act after a dodge and slightly increases the size of your stamina pool."

  • Vitality "determines the size of your health pool." Regeneration is used to refill your supply of health.

  • Authority "determines the amount of damage your followers deal and the amount of concussive damage you deal."

  • Authority "determines the amount of damage your followers deal and the amount of concussive damage you deal."

  • Expertise "determines the maximum weight you can carry." (Carrying more than your max makes the player over encumbered.)

Corrupted Attributes

Players draw power from Corruption and corrupt their attributes. Corrupting an attribute requires players to have at least Heavy corruption (40% corruption or more) as well as Soul Essence, 1 Essence per point. Corrupting a perk will result in the character getting new Corrupted perks that will replace the old perk. Corrupted perks tend to be much more powerful. However, corrupting an attribute also results in 2.5% of permanent Corruption (this corruption can only be cleansed by resetting attributes). Meaning fully corrupting a single attribute, will result in player suffering 50% permanent corruption. However, since permanent Corruption is capped at 50%, a character can corrupt all attributes with the same maximum penalty.

Currently only Strength, Vitality and Authority can be corrupted.

Followers

Followers do not get Authority or Expertise. The bonuses provided per point by their other attributes vary depending on the follower, e.g. 1 point of vitality will give a different amount of health. The effects of the followers' current attributes can be seen on their status screens.

  • Strength: increases damage caused by strength-based weapons. All pets use strength-based weapons (including rhino mount horn attacks*), even those with ranged attacks.

  • Agility: increases damage caused by agility-based weapons, which only thralls (not pets) can be equipped with. On mounts, this also affects the aiming reticle for mounted archery.

  • Vitality: increases health.

  • Grit: increases natural armor rating. This is far more useful on pets than thralls, as pets cannot be equipped with armor.

* Trampling is also supposed to be a strength-based attack, however, the mount checks for its mount's strength, and since mounts do not have mounts, it always returns a 0.

Mounts do not benefit from any bonuses provided by the player, such as their Authority or +follower damage gear.

Truncheons are not strength- or agility-based weapons and will gain no bonus from those attributes, however, thralls' melee/ranged damage multipliers do affect concussive damage.
