Dive into an adventure where the barbaric lands of Conan meet the medieval world of the Age of Calamitous. It is a story set in a fictional world where the medieval and renaissance era is merged into a unique combination. Realism is the foundation of the world itself, but with additional fantasy elements.
The update is finally here! Thank you all for being so patient while waiting for this update.
Due to the time frame and lengthy process of reworking the content, we’ve decided to release this update in multiple stages. What this means is that the lore aspect, including Story Quests, Faction Quests, and Alliance Quests will be postponed until the next update. In this build, there will be Daily Quests for each Faction, while fairly limited at the initial launch, we plan to expand upon this with new Daily Quests in the near future! There are over 300+ new Quests in this update, but there are plenty more on the roadmap that we will release in smaller patches as we move forward. The new structure established for the Quest System will allow new and seamless integration of new quests, without the need to reset characters, etc. There are also no Skip Tokens set up for the quests at this point. The new Quest approach will allow you to take and/or skip questlines as you see fit. This means you can now run straight to Faction Hall and select your Faction without doing the introduction quests, they’re optional but do provide a good start for your new character.
Additionally, the Market Hall of the Faction Hall has been temporarily closed until we can finalize the rest of the Merchant Prices. Professions & Faction Merchants are still available!

THE ALLIANCE SYSTEM This system divides the Factions into 2 groups, The Silverlight Accord and the Forsaken Legion. The Faction Hall has been updated to reflect this, where the Silverlight Alliance is on the Left Side of the Hall, and the Forsaken Alliance is on the Right Side of the Hall. As there are no quests available to explain this right now, in short, when you select either Stormhold, Elven Covenant or Elvanor you will automatically become part of the Silverlight Alliance. When selecting either Cold Embrace, Shadaerion Dominion, or the Vanghoul Clans you will become part of the Forsaken Legion. (This means once the player selects a Faction, all NPCs allied with that faction will now become allied. This will allow the player to enter any of their respective faction camps across the map without any problems. Do note that this is only applicable to the Player’s MAIN FACTION, not any additional factions joined through Gold Tokens. Once allied with a faction, the player is safe and free to trade, roam, etc. without concern.)
HONOR SYSTEM The Honor System goes hand in hand with the Alliance System and allows you to increase or decrease your standing with a Faction. When joining a Faction, you can increase your Honor with Allied Factions to unlock them. When going into minus with a faction, you will become an enemy of that faction. Do note that you can become enemies with allied factions of the same alliance, even your own faction. If you do become an enemy of your own faction, you will lose your faction. You will be able to select a new faction if this happens, but be aware that the negative standing won’t be reset unless using the new Reset Alliance Token available in the Faction Hall through Ferongar. This Token will force reset all your Faction content, all your Honor Points, etc., and should only be used to reset your character. You can build Honor Points by completing Quests or defeating enemies of that specific faction. (To go alongside the Alliance System, you can now build honor with your allied factions. Once you select a Faction, you’ll start with 100 HP points for that Faction. The allied factions will be at a Neutral standing, meaning 0. When you work to build honor with other factions, you’ll be able to unlock new content from those factions. Additionally, factions you have a Neutral standing or Good standing with will not attack you. However, if you go below 0 or Neutral standing, you will be considered an enemy of that faction. Factions you are an enemy with will attack you on sight and you will not be able to participate in quests, use their merchants, etc. You can build Honor Points by completing Quests or defeating enemies of that specific faction.)
RIFT GATE SYSTEM This system allows you to use Rift Gates around the world to travel between unlocked destinations. The new Rift Energy that can be found all around the world will allow you to unlock new destinations for the Rift Gate. In order to unlock a new destination, explore the world for Tomes encased in blue flames. (This system allows players to interact with Rift Gates around the world, which works in a similar fashion to the old Portal System. However, Rift Gates allow players to unlock Rifts between locations and can connect gates to each other. As an example, the player can access a Rift Gate in the Volcano and when interacting with it, they can choose to open a Rift to any previously unlocked location, such as the Faction Hall.)
SOUL ESSENCE SYSTEM Soul Essence replaces the stamina usage for Magic weapons. Additionally, Magic Weapons will no longer require stacks of spells. Once a spell has been crafted, you can apply that to your Magic weapon and cast magic. The spell doesn’t need to be crafted in quantity as you’ll be able to use it indefinitely now. However, Soul Essence will dictate how much you can cast a time now.
DYNAMIC COMBAT SYSTEM This system makes it possible to level up your weapons and tools, increasing their overall strength and quality. Part of this system includes Faction NPCs, which will now be scaling dynamically alongside the player. This is the first iteration of this system and we plan to expand upon it further down the road.
NEW COMBAT STYLE: SHADOWCALLING This new combat style is only available on 2 sets of weapons as of right now: Blades of Elydarh (Shadaerion Dominion) and Sanguis Daggers (Cold Embrace). This combat style offers a Melee/Magic type of combat.
NEW DUNGEON: GHOULSHAW FACTORY This is a new dungeon accessible from the Unnamed City, Vanghoul area.
AoC Weapon Tier System has been reworked. The new tiers are as follows: T1 – Crude T2 – Hammered T3 – Ironshod T4 – Bronzewrought T5 – Steelbound T6 – Stormtempered T7 – Runebound T8 – Nobleforged T9 – Eldercrafted T10 – Eternalbound
