When starting out in Palworld, it is important you know right away what tools to aim for so that you are not stuck farming with your fists for the first five minutes. Get two (2) pieces of Wood and make a Workbench straight away!
Primitive Workbench Requirements: • Wood (x2)
Of the several tools available for crafting at the beginning of the game, the Stone Pickaxe, along with the Stone Axe are recommended top picks since they give you access to valuable starting resources immediately.
Tool Crafting Priority | Role Stone Pickaxe Crafting Priority: ★★★★★ • Will make it easier to collect stones from nearby nodes. Stone Axe Crafting Priority: ★★★★☆ • Makes gathering wood more efficient. • Can also be used as a weapon. Hand-held Torch Crafting Priority: ★★★☆☆ • Keeps you warm during night time. • A useful light source for dark areas. Wooden Club Crafting Priority: ★☆☆☆☆ • Useful in combat against Pals. • Easy to craft with limited materials.
Craft in the workbench {early game} and in the Sphere Bench {Advanced Crafting}
Pal Spheres can be easily crafted using Paldium Fragment, Wood, and Stone once you've unlocked them in your Technology Tab for 1 Technology Point. Higher-level Pal Spheres can also be unlocked through Technology as you level up.
TIP: Vixy Gets Pal Spheres in a Ranch. If you want to get a lot of Pal Spheres using less resources and time, you can build a Ranch on your base and place a Vixy in it.
After you've done the absolute basics of making a Primitive Workbench, and gathering Wood, Stone, and Paldium Fragments, you'll be entrusted to craft a Pal Sphere. You should use it on a Cattiva, which will be a big help in your first Base thanks to wide variety of Work Suitabilities like Mining and Handiwork.
Here's some tips for catching Pals without wasting your Pal Spheres:
Lower its health as much as possible without killing it. Switch to weaker weapons as needed to avoid dropping its HP to 0.
While you're still holding the Pal Sphere throw button, you can cancel the throw (right click on PC)
Once you unlock the Fire/Poison Bow and Arrow, use it to inflict Status Effects, making Pals easier to catch.
Recall your Pal or select Don't attack from the Radial Menu (the 4 key on PC) before the enemy is knocked out.
Use a Mounted Pal like Rushoar or Chillet to control your Pal, allowing you to freely choose between a variety of ranged attacks to lower enemies' health effectively.
Once you have obtained a Pal, you will want to figure out how to level up fast along with it to maximize your efficiency in catching more Pals!
As you level up, you'll gain Technology Points which you can use to unlock additional upgrades for your Base. Beyond the absolute basics, like the Wooden Structure Set, Campfire, and a Shoddy Bed, here's some things you should pick up for sure in your first 15 levels. Note that this is not a complete list!
Fire/Poison Bow and Arrow: Allows you to inflict Status Conditions to more easily catch Pals.
Logging Site and Stone Pit: Will single-handedly solve your bottleneck for Wood and Stone.
Crusher: Will single-handedly solve your bottleneck for Paldium Fragments.
Ranch: Can be used with Vixy to farm Pal Spheres.
Crossbow: Much more powerful than the preceding bows; you can even skip the Three Shot Bow for this one.
Mega Sphere: The better Pal Sphere! Expensive, but worth it for the times when you need it.
Foxparks' Harness: Turns Foxparks into a living flamethrower.
Daedream's Necklace: Allows Daedream to attack even while you have a different Pal out. Just watch out for it when trying to catch Pals!
Command Daedream to Not Attack
If you have the Daedream's Necklace Key Item and have Daedream in your party, it will automatically attack any Pals that attack you. You can command Daedream to not attack aggressively through the Pal Commands Menu by pressing 4 on Keyboard
Rushoar's Saddle: Rushoar is one of the earliest mountable monsters you can catch, and its saddle can be unlocked from the Technology menu at Level 6.
Chillet's Saddle: If you are feeling lucky, you can try catching the Chillet (Level 11) overworld boss to the east of the first Rayne Syndicate Towers, and unlock the saddle at Level 13.
Don't get caught out in the cold! On your first day in Palworld, time will progress normally, and you'll fall prey to the following if you aren't prepared.
The day lasts 32 minutes, so if possible, try to make your first Base before then.
It's cold and night and you'll gradually lose health! If you haven't built a Base yet, craft a Hand-held Torch from a Primitive Workbench, or make a campfire to keep warm.
Nocturnal Pal Monsters only appear during the night and cannot be encountered during daytime in Palworld. The following are all Pal monsters that appear in the wild during nighttime. NOCTURNAL PALS
Catching Pals is one of the basics of Palworld and will lead to easier battles and more efficient base construction. Besides Cattiva, we recommend the following for starters, but the truth is that you'll be recruiting many more Pals for a variety of purposes, and this is just a small sample to get you going.
Daedream - A Dark type Pal with Dark skills which are super effective to Neutral type enemies.
Foxparks - You can unlock its Huggy Face Partner Skill fairly early via the Foxparks' Harness Technology to hit bosses with flamethrower action.
Vixy - Not for the absolute start of the game, but once you get the Ranch, can produce plenty of Pal Spheres and Arrows for free.
Once you've got a good Party going, you'll want to increase their level to take on tougher threats like Zoe and Grizzbolt, the first Tower Boss. Here's some tips to increase the level of your player, Party Pals, and Base Pals:
Catch up to 10 of each Pal species. Each of the first 10 will provide a sizeable EXP Bonus to your Player and Party Pals regardless of the enemy's level or your Difficulty Setting.
Reroll the Alpha Bosses at the end of Dungeons by leaving the room and coming back. Each time, you can catch the Alpha's underlings to get the EXP Bonus for several different species.
Level up Pals in your Base by lining up tasks for them to complete while you're away. When you're at Base, your Player and Party Pals will gain EXP from their tasks too.
The maximum number of bases you can build and manage in Palworld is three. Our rules allows you ONE (1) Main, and One (1) Outpost for bases.
At base level ten you will be able to build a second base.
At base level 15 you will be able to build a third base.
Be smart about your base placement, and remember you can dismantle a base and place it somewhere else if you need to.
It is important that you invest into completing your base's current missions to increase your base level through Palbox. Doing so will:
Will increase the max number of Pals that can be assigned to your base.
Can increase the number of bases you can set up (starting at Base Level 10)
More Pals assigned to your base means more tasks can be automated for farming resources and crafting necessities!
Items and Pals can be dropped on the ground and can be shared with others if playing on Palworld's Multiplayer mode.
How to Drop Items
Any item in your inventory can be dropped to the ground by simply dragging it to the Drop button at the bottom left of the screen. If you're playing multiplayer, other players can take the item you dropped. Unlike regular items in your inventory, Key Items cannot be dropped. You may find this function useful if you've reached your maximum Carrying Capacity and need to quickly lighten your load!
Q. What should I do first?
A. Pick up fallen branches and pebbles to collect wood and stones. You can also obtain wood and stones by hitting large trees and rocks with your bare hands. Build a workbench and make an ax and a pickaxe to increase your collection efficiency.
Once you have collected the materials, choose a place for your base and build a "Palbox". The place where the Palbox is located will be your base.
As you level up, produce weapons and Pal Spheres, weaken Pals and capture them. Pals not only serve as combat power, but also as a labor force if you put them out at your base.
Q. The game says I'm hungry, how can I eat food?
A. You can eat the berries you find in the wild or the meat you get from hunting Pals. You can eat food by right-clicking in the inventory. (controller pad: Y button).
Q. The night is too dark and cold.
A. By building a campfire and staying near it, or by holding a portable torch, you can withstand the cold and darkness. Also, if all players sleep in bed, you can rest until morning and skip the night.
Q. Even though I've unlocked technology, it doesn't appear in the craft list at the workbench.
A. "Buildings" such as campfires and Palbox can be selected from the building menu. Press the B key (controller pad: arrow key down) to open the building menu
Q. I can't capture Pals! Isn't the probability of this game too low?
A. Pals are easier to capture when their HP is low, they are affected by status effects, or they are caught in a trap. High-level Pals are difficult to capture, but you can make them easier to capture by creating powerful spheres or enhancing your capture power with Lifmunk Effigies.
Q. My level isn't increasing at all! Isn't the balance of this game bad?
A. Capturing a new species of Pal will earn the player bonus experience points. You can get bonus experience points up to 10 times for one species, so it's important to capture a lot of Pals. Also, by defeating powerful Pals found around various places, players and Pals can earn a lot of experience points.
Q. Why is the purple ancient technology on the right side of the technology screen still locked?
A. Ancient technology can only be unlocked with ancient technology points obtained via defeating boss enemies.
Q. I got a Pal Egg. How can I hatch it?
A. Unlock the ancient technology "Egg Incubator" and build it at your base. Ancient technology can only be unlocked with ancient technology points obtained via defeating boss enemies.
Q. What is a partner skill? How can I use it?
A. Partner skills are inherent abilities that each species of Pal has, allowing you to ride on Pals or have Pals shoot guns. Some Pals require "Pal Gear", which can be created at a Pal Gear Workbench, to unlock partner skills. The skill can be activated by holding down the F key (controller pad: X button) while the Pal is out of the sphere.
Also, some Pals provide useful passive effects just by having them. The Partner Skill effects are displayed in the Pal Party menu.
Q. I'm stuck in a wall and can't get out. What should I do?
A. We apologize for the inconvenience. Sometimes you may get stuck in terrain due to a bug. From the options tab in the menu screen, you can choose "Die and Respawn" to get out of the wall. Because this will count as a death, please return to the place of death and pick up the items and Pals to get them back.
Q. What does weapon damage and armor damage mean? How can I repair it?
A. The durability of the weapons and armor you wear decreases with each use, and if the durability reaches 0, they will break and the performance will decrease. By building a "Repair Bench" and consuming materials for repairs, you can use it again with its original performance.
Q. What do you use Lifmunk Effigies for?
A. Offering Lifmunk Effigies to "Power Statues" will permanently enhance the probability of capturing Pals with Pal Spheres. Power statues can either be built by yourself or found at church ruins around the place.
Q. What do you use Pal souls for?
A. You can enhance the stats of a specific Pal by offering its soul at a "Power Statue". Higher dimensional enhancements require larger Pal souls.
Q. The battle is difficult and I die quickly...
A. Please try the following methods.
・Unlock "Common Shield", craft it and equip it (※The shield is very important※)
・Unlock "Cloth Outfit" (body armor), craft it and equip it.
・Practice rolling evasion (Ctrl key, controller pad: B)
・Evasive action is possible even when holding a weapon or Pal sphere in the hand.
If you still find it difficult, please return to the title screen and change the difficulty to "Casual" from "Change World Settings" in the world selection screen.
Q. How can I recover HP?
A. HP naturally recovers over time. You can also recover by sleeping in bed.
Q. What should I do if my Pal is on the verge of death?
A. Even if Pal becomes incapacitated, you will not lose it. You can recover the HP of an incapacitated Pal by placing it back in the Palbox at your base for a while.
Q. I died... Will the dropped items be lost?
A. Even if you die, the items you drop will remain at the point of death for a long time. *Depending on the world settings, you may also drop Pals on death, but they will remain at the point of death.
Q. What is a base? How do I build it?
A. Once you build a "Palbox", the surrounding area becomes the base of your guild. The Palbox is the "center of the base". The base (Palbox) has the following functions:
・It serves as a fast travel point. You can warp to the statue of an eagle.
・You can summon Pals to the base and they can assist with construction and work.
・You can entrust wounded Pals and Pals on the verge of death to the base, which will allow them to recover HP over time.
Q. When I move around to find a spot for Palbox, I fail to find it in most cases, since Palbox turns into red.
A. Palbox requires the space to summon Pals right behind Palbox. And it should be built on a flat surface with enough space. Furthermore, if the space you want to build Palbox is occupied by any Pals(like standing on it), you cannot designate that space to build Palbox.
If you cannot designate the space to build Palbox, please try the following steps:
Put back your summoned Pals into Pal Spheres
Rotate Palbox and make sure that Palbox and your character aren’t overlapping
Don’t build Palbox next to any walls, build Palbox on a flat surface with enough space
Note that if the space to summon Pal is located inside walls, your Pals and your character might be stuck inside walls.
Q. I want to relocate the building.
A. You can activate the Disassembly Mode by pressing the C key(controller pad: pressing right stick). If you disassemble the buildings in the Disassembly Mode, the resource used for the buildings will return to your inventory.
Q. My Pal at the base has stopped moving...
A. For some reasons, Pals at the base may not be able to work properly. Please try the following methods:
・Widen the space between buildings and widen the passageways in the base
・Return the Pal at the base to the Palbox once and reissue it to the base
・Log out and log back into the game
・Move to a flat terrain so that there are no cliffs or plateaus within the base area
Q. I summoned a Chikipi to the base, but it does nothing.
A. Each Pal has work that it can and cannot do. Please check the work suitability icon on the Pal's status screen. Pals such as Cattiva and Lamball have hands and can do manual work, helping with construction and crafting. All the Chikipi can do is lay eggs in a farm.
Q. What is a base upgrade? How can I do it?
A. Interact with the Palbox and access "Base Upgrade". By achieving missions, you can upgrade the Palbox to the next stage. As the base level increases, the number of Pals that can be brought out at the base increases.
Q. It's troublesome to feed all the Pals at the base who are hungry.
A. Unlock the technology "Feed Box" and build it. If you put food in the feed box, Pals will eat it automatically.
Q. The Pals at the base are slacking off or getting sick.
A. SAN values decrease for base Pals if they do not sleep in a Pal bed at night, or if there is not enough food. To prevent the SAN value from decreasing, build a Pal bed, hot spring, and feed box, and arrange the working environment so as not to overwork the Pals.
Also, dark attribute Pals have a characteristic of insomnia, making them prone to overwork.
Egg Incubators are used to help speed up the process of hatching eggs rather than just waiting around for them to hatch. They can be unlocked via the Technology Tree and are a craftable construct that can be placed in your base. When placed inside an egg incubator, an egg will begin the process of hatching and will eventually yield a new Pal!
Some eggs will have special conditions that the player can satisfy for the egg to hatch sooner. For example, Scorching Eggs prefer to have a heat source nearby, so placing a campfire next to its incubator will speed up the hatching process.
Breeding in Palworld can be done by unlocking the Breeding Farm then selecting two opposite gender pals to breed - use Cake to begin the breeding process. After breeding, they will lay an egg which can then be incubated for it to hatch!
Unlock the Breeding Farm
Place a Male and Female Pal in the Farm to Breed
Put Cake in the Breeding Farm Box
Incubate the Egg
How to Bake a Cake
The Cooking Pot structure is required to bake the Cake. Bring the required Ingredients and use a Pal with Kindling to craft it. Flour ×5 - Use Wheat Seeds to build a Wheat Plantation, and a Mill to turn Wheat into Flour. Red Berries ×8 - Produce with the Berry Plantation, or put Caprity in the Ranch. Milk ×7 - Catch a Mozzarina and put it in your Ranch.
Breeding is an essential feature to creating the strongest Pals in Palworld. Pals can cross-breed with different species and their offspring inherit the characteristics of their parents. Through certain conditions, you can also breed a special variant called a Fusion Pal.
Pals of Different Species Can Breed
The Pals that you want to breed do not need to be of the same species - they can also cross-breed with Pals of different species. You can breed different species and get an offspring entirely different from the parents. The resulting Egg can also have a different Element from the parents. For example, breeding a Fire and Dragon Pal can yield an offspring of the Ice Element!
Offspring Inherit Their Parents’ Characteristics
The resulting Pal can inherit the characteristics of its two parents. This means that the parents inherent skills and other stats are then adopted by the offpsring. In addition to this, breeding and combining Lucky Pals will result in even stronger Pals altogether!
Get Fusion Pals Through Breeding
Some Pals have special variants called Fusion Pals and are obtainable through cross-breeding different Pal species. For example, you'll be able to obtain a Mossanda Lux by breeding a Mossanda and a Grizzbolt. Note that not all combinations will yield unique Pal variants; you need specific combinations to get these variants.
Pals do not evolve into a stronger version of themselves. Breeding will be the primary way to obtain powerful Pals with desirable skills.
Breeding also produces specific Fusion Pals that may seem like Pal evolution, but are just variants of existing Pals.
Building a team of Pals that have different types will increase your chance of defeating more enemy Pals and bosses, and ensure you don't encounter a situation where you can't progress due to a bad type match-up!
Fire Type Pals Have Great Offensive Typing
Pals with the Fire element type are the only element to hit more than one element for super effective damage in the Ice and Grass Type. This makes them one of the best types offensively and a great choice to add to your team.
Additionally Fire Element Pals will keep you warm during the night making them a must for beginners to Survival Games!
Leveling up your Pals by defeating other pals is necessary to advance the game and explore more areas as even if your Pal has a favorable type match-up, it will instantly lose against a higher level foe! Increasing your Pal's level also unlocks new skills which allow your Pals to deal more damage!
You can also increase your Pals' stats by harvesting the souls of other Pals you've captured to get Pal Souls.
Using Pal Souls will then let you increase your Pal's Max Health, Attack, Defense, and Walk Speed at a Statue of Power.

Thank you for your continued support of Palworld.
In terms of brand-new features, Pocketpair wants to focus on the following areas:
PvP/Arena
Though players can already join multiplayer servers, there is no dedicated PvP experience in Palworld at launch, which is something the developers want to change with an Arena mode.
Raid Bosses for multiplayer PvE (Added the first raid boss April 3rd. 2024)
Cooperative content is important to them as well, though, which is where Raid Bosses come into play: They can only be defeated by players joining hands.
Pal Trading
Finally, Pal Trading is another multiplayer feature Pocketpair has its eyes on – it’s self-explanatory, really: Every creature collection game should have a trading system, allowing players to exchange the critters they tamed or bred.
Steam/Xbox crossplay
Palworld currently does not support crossplay between Game Pass and Steam (Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass are compatible, however not with Steam). Pocket Pair has stated that they are working on releasing full crossplay as a feature as soon as possible.
Server transfers and migrations
New islands, Pals, bosses, and technologies
April Update info. We are planning a larger, more content-packed update for summer 2024. Enjoy never-before-seen scenery and thrilling adventures on a new island, home to many new pals. In addition, we plan to add a large amount of new content including new buildings, weapons, and tower bosses.
Key configuration improvements
Pal AI and pathing improvements
Building system updates (Some updates to building happened April 3rd. 2024)
We’ve yet to see what exactly Pocketpair wants to overhaul in the building system, but it looks like the developer is not 100% happy with how it works at the moment.
You are trying to use the community browser. While this is possible (open community browser, search the name, repeat till you find it), you are better off joining via IP.
Select "Join Multiplayer Game" in the title screen
Find the IP address box at the bottom of the page.
Type / Paste in your "Connection Info" IP:
Press the "Enter" key.
You are trying to use the community browser. While this is possible (open community browser, search the name, repeat till you find it), you are better off joining via IP.
If it’s due to connection issues (server down, lag, etc.), the only thing you can do is keep trying to join. For the bug, if you are not the host, there is absolutely nothing you can do.
Your server may have corrupted your saved data in the world save file. This is due to a member of your guild leaving while you were offline. Any offline members at the time of one leaving become affected.
Many Palworld users have reported it. This is potentially due to your server/world reaching 32 days.
It appears to wipe Single Player, Officials, and Dedicated Servers.
If it happens on Single Player, you should have automatic backups. Read about how to access them here.
Our Dedicated Server keeps several backups daily so a rollback is possible.
You only need to go to C:\Users\your username\AppData\Local\Pal\Saved\SaveGames and copy the SaveGames folder to another location.
And if, after returning to the game after a while, you notice any problems, you can restore your progress using a backup copy.
(Note: Reporting from within the game, as mentioned above, ensures the most reliable delivery to the development team.)
